YYC has embraced its duty in caring for the environment. Awareness programming such as tree-plantings, recycling initiatives and energy and water conservation campaigns are central to the environmental work of the organization.
Together, these campaigns teach communities how to protect and nurture the environment they share.
YYC humanitarian initiatives are rooted in our commitment to serve communities by focusing on their macro development and cohesion while simultaneously catering to the specific needs of the families and individuals that comprise the community.
YYC also provides a platform for children and youth to develop their talents and skills in order to better serve and lead in their communities. Our initiatives aim to help individuals respect one another and live in harmony.
YYC will implement programs in an effort to bolster and promote education. Educational activities will include support for further learning and career guidance programs. These programs provide an environment for students to progress in their academic careers and to also develop as contributing members of society.
Through workshops, educational campaigns and professional conferences, YYC believes that education is empowering and a key driver of external and internal development.

YYC supports healthy living through education, preventative care and affordable treatment. YYC will engaging in a wide-range of health and wellness programs to improve the health of the people. YYC believes that health awareness is the key to healthy living.
To bring about such awareness, YYC will organize a range of initiatives including addiction intervention campaigns, medical-spiritual conferences, medical education lectures, yoga classes, healthy living publications and fitness and recreation programs that together provide a comprehensive approach to helping people stay fit and healthy.
Engaging in sport and physical activities, including physical fitness activities, plays a significant role in promoting health and wellness. Not only does such activity help improve the physical fitness and health, but also it is an integral strategy for stemming obesity.
Sport activities incorporate the best values of sport – self-discipline, respect for one’s opponent, fair play, teamwork, and adherence to mutually agree upon rules – help individuals to build the values and communication skills necessary to prevent and resolve conflict in their own lives. Sport can also be used to reduce tensions and prevent conflict on a broader, community-wide level.
YYC has culture and heritage as a distinct part of the identity of an individual. YYC will host a variety of initiatives to help people stay connected with their cultural roots. Through YYC’ cultural initiatives, people will experience the beauty of various traditions.
Dance, theatre, and music have a variety of classical, folk, and regional flavors. The performing arts are the ideal means for understanding the true beauty of a land and its people. YYC will not only help individuals to develop their talents and interests in these traditional forms of the performing arts, but it provides a platform for them to perform and present it to people. Celebrating festivals and promoting a healthy lifestyle are all integral parts of YYC’ cultural and development activities.
YYC will play a vital role in nurturing the scientific impulse amongst our youth - encouraging them to get their hands dirty and develop scientific and technological knowledge and skills through project-based science.
YYC works to capture the imaginations of the youths and broaden their access to science. We also promote agricultural literacy among the youths while developing their understanding, appreciation and application of science through a variety of hands-on agriculturally based activities.
Today's youth are the next generation of researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs. We want to ensure that the youths have the chance to peer through a microscope and be mesmerized by what they see. We want a country where teachers look forward to teaching science, where parents are thrilled to be "science parents," and kids can't wait to play science.

YYC’s Emergency & Disaster Response Cell constantly monitor developing weather situations and other forms of natural disasters and inform the general public accordingly. Our team consistently sends members to the field to gauge our level of response.
We gather critical information and report that back to our E&DR Cell where the scope of our response is determined. Disaster response efforts vary depending on the nature of a disaster but typically consist of distributing relief supplies to those in need, coordinate volunteers and assist in cleanup efforts.
YYC Citizenship programs empower young people to be well-informed citizens who are actively engaged in their communities and the world.
By providing them with opportunities to connect to their communities and adult leaders, youth gain a clear understanding of their role in civic affairs and are able to build their decision-making ability.
This solid foundation helps youth understand and acquire the skills that will allow them to become astute leaders for the 21st Century.
YYC promote the encouragement of the study of economic science in academic life, government service, banking, industry and public affairs.
To this end, YYC will organise a range of events, including seminars on the history of economic thought, discussion panels on events of political, economic and social interest and forums to introduce new game-changing trends in economic research. Economists, academics, politicians and journalists will be invited to these events.

YYC 'Mangrove Reforestation Initiative'
Mangroves are vital for our future. A sea without a mangrove is like a tree without any roots. Mangroves are not only a dynamic habitat linking land and sea, but also a living bioshield and protector against cyclones and tsunamis; a critical food source for tropical fish; filtering pollutants to protect sea grasses and corals; countless reptiles and birds live there; and with a carbon storage capacity up to five times bigger than rainforests. These unique and critical ecosystems need protecting and restoring.
Mangroves are disappearing at an alarming rate due to shrimp farming, coastal development, unsustainable tourism, forest overexploitation. Mangroves are one of the most important ecosystems of our planet. YYC is dedicated to reversing the decline of mangrove forest ecosystems. To help prioritize these vital ecosystems, and minimize the impacts of climate change, we invite you to join us. Together we can make a difference.
YYC thanks the Ministry of Ocean Economy, Marine Resources, Fisheries, Shipping and Outer Island, the Albion Fisheries Research Centre and all partners for their support to this project. Many thanks also to all our members for their participation in this project of national interest.
YYC 'Reforestation Campaign' in Mauritius
The YYC's 'Plant a Tree - Plant our Future' campaign is a major forest restoration effort with a goal of planting a million trees across the Republic of Mauritius. Trees provide so many benefits to our everyday lives. They filter clean air, provide fresh drinking water, help curb climate change, and create homes for thousands of species of plants and animals. 'Plant a Tree - Plant our Future' can help save the country from deforestation. It’s a big number, but we know we can do it with your help.
As an environmental protection organisation, we are dedicated to making it easier for individuals and businesses to give back to the environment, create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity, and help reforestation efforts. All by planting trees!
YYC thanks the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agro-Industry, Forestry Dept of the Ministry and all partners for all their support in this major initiative. Many thanks also to all our members for their participation in this project of national interest.

YYC 'Clean Up & Embellishment Projects'
The act of dropping litter is a social behaviour that can only be remedied through social measures. Positive actions that can encourage people to dispose of their waste in a responsible way include raising awareness of the problem that litter presents, creating a better appreciation for their environment, involving communities in developing local solutions and many more.
Do join us in our clean up campaigns and embellishment projects. We believe that such clean-up actions are also an effective way to bring communities together and, by enhancing social bonds, make people more appreciative of their common environment.
YYC is also affiliated with the Ministry of Environment of Mauritius and thanks the Ministry for their support in all activities of the organisation. Many thanks also to all our partners and members for their support and participation in such initiatives of national interest.
